FWIW: It looks like we solved this problem. The final piece of the puzzle was to delete all of the old cookies for the site on each user's machine. I did that two days ago and we haven't had a problem since. If you've been following this thread, you may remember our users where going through a proxy server. We switched them all to direct connect to the Net. I think the problem lingered after that because they still had the old cookies (set when they went through the proxy server) on their machines.
