Can anyone tell me what's going on here? I had to reinstall some software
after my Windows98SE just decided to revert to an earlier set of system
files. Don't know why, haven't found any viruses or anything, but it did.
Suddenly my browser was back to IE5.0 instead of the IE5.5 I've been using
for a while now.

SO I upgraded my IE5.0 again to IE5.5. So far so good. I've progressively
fixed bits of my system but there's one thing that's really irritating me,
and I don't know what is wrong and nothing I do seems to fix it. ...

I keep getting asked if I want to download Visual Basic Scripting Support.
If I click "Cancel", nine times out of ten I get a blank page, I guess
because the scripting in the page isn't working. Ok, I understand that.
But if I click "Download", it downloads 307kb, and then nothing else
happens. When I went to the Microsoft windows update site, it downloaded
the scripting support 4 times! And still didn't do anything.

No matter how many times I tell it to download and install Visual Basic
Scripting Support, it downloads the 307km and then next time it comes to
some scripting it asks to download it again. Is there some option I have
turned off that I should turn on or something? Anyone know what's going
on here?
