I thought I'd add my opinion here.

I have spent quite a bit of time Dreamweaver MX and I
think its a great step forward. Macromedia has set
out to accomplish quite alot with this version of
Dreamweaver and actually they've done an amazing job.
Although it might not be the right tool for everyone,
I have a feeling they're really going to do very well
with this product...and that is good for the
ColdFusion community.

Most of my day is spent coding ColdFusion. To that
end, I also spend copious amounts of time with
ColdFusion Studio 5 and now HomeSite+. I will be
using both products. I REALLY like Studio/Homesite+,
and I don't have any plans to give it up completely,
not yet. As is being mentioned, the Coding
environment in Dreamweaver MX doesn't have all the IDE
features I rely on. On the other hand, the product
does have alot of seriously cool, timesaving features.
Because of that, I have decided it is worth my while
to adjust some of my workflow to incorporate
Dreamweaver. If I need to do something quick and
dirty or something code heavy (with out much in the
way of interface), I use ColdFusion Studio/Homesite+.
On the other hand, for setting up a GUI or doing
things that require repetitive motions, for instance
setting up a form to update a database...I can do it
way faster in Dreamweaver. Add in the use of some of
the other MX products, and things get even better. As
I am finding myself doing more and more GUI work, I
really appreciate the tools I now have at my disposal.

In my opinion, its at least worth a thorough look.
Setting up sites is a common gripe. It does take time
that you wouldn't have to spend on something in
ColdFusion Studio. Macromedia obviously knows they
have work to do for the coding environment, or they
wouldn't be including HomeSite+ with Dreamweaver. (By
the way, Homesite+ does have some minor enhancements
over CF Studio 5--they did a bit more than just rename
it. Also by the way, I am pretty sure that ColdFusion
Studio versions of the future will no longer be called
ColdFusion Studio. I think the main reason for this
is that the product is geared towards other
application development languages too.)
