Check your logs to see if its coming from a browser named Scooter-3.2.EX crawling search-engine friendly urls. I think thats either AOL or Alta Vista. Bottom line is Scooter is freaking over SES urls.
Apparently its treating each url as a starting point, and from each of these 'starting points' is crawling the entire site. Massive traffic results. Last time I looked had sustained more than 100,000 page views since mid-evening yesterday, and its still going on. Throttled the two affected sites down to 5kbps to keep my bandwidth bill from bankrupting me. --------------------------------------- Matt Robertson [EMAIL PROTECTED] MSB Designs, Inc., www.mysecretbase.com --------------------------------------- ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Michael Dinowitz) Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] date: Mon, 1 Jul 2002 14:08:49 -0400 I've got CF5 on WSP and I've been seeing the registry setting for the client vars fill up exceptionally fast. Every second there's like 4 new items in it. I think this has to do with some sort of system probe, but I can't hunt it down and disable it. Any clue from anyone?
