Hi again, somehow this system is dog slow when compiling C/C++. I’ve never been very good at reading Darwin’s diagnostic output, but it seems like there is a crazy amount of swapping going on, and the fseventsd process is hogging two thirds of the memory. Every process that wants to do something is in state "stuck", i.e., waiting for disk. The system reads and writes around 3 TB from/to disk every day. This is insane!
Maybe switching off Spotlight would make it better. It is probably not used much anyway on this kind of machine. _______________________________________________ cfarm-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.tetaneutral.net/listinfo/cfarm-users
