Andrew, Ok so let me get this straight. What your implying is:
a) Because I'm trying to do something new/different, I'm not a serious developer (despite holding that position for the last 8 1/2 years) b) I didn't use VS/VPC/VMware etc, so I failed to take the smartest route. Despite already doing this and finding that video performance was woeful if running remotely. I didn't see the point in mentioning this as it had nothing to do with my original post. I do agree with some of the comments you make, like "developers don't have that much time". But I'm sure I'm not the first developer to get sick of/frustrated with what they are doing and so find something else to do as a distraction. Or have a day off work and still use one of their work notebooks at home to play with beta software. I do find it hard to believe that despite Vista only being 6 months (give or take a few months) away, that no one at Adobe/MM has ever tried installing CF on Vista. I'm not saying your wrong, just that it is a worry if that is the case. As I have already found tonight, the comments elsewhere on the net about the x86 version of the installer not being able to ever complete on Vista (with or without errors) is completely untrue. I've found that by dropping the settings back on the installer exe to only run in 256 colour mode, and disable themes etc, that the installer will now run all the way through (and without any errors). This is exactly the same bug the installer had when remotely installing on Server 2003 when it first came out. Doesn't require a patch/updater as long as people are aware of what the issue is. That said, I do agree that installing CF with IIS7 with definitely require a patch (or more than likely, completely new installer) before it is attempted by anyone not willing/able to get their hands dirty. Have a good night/morning. Mark --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "cfaussie" group.
