"I do wonder however if they had held everything in and did one big
announcement if this would have greater impact."

damned if they do and damned if they don't ..."can't please all the
ppl all the time" stuff

I have no probs with how Tim Buntel is running this and the work Ben
Forta is doing right now getting usergroups up to speed (in person),
mostly for the reasons you mentioned, Dale (ease to beta, info on
features, etc)

I *do* have a problem with the message not getting to the decision
makers - manager-to-manager - but with the rumoured press briefings
recently happening, I'm hoping this will be rectified.

just because we hear "scorpio this, Scorpio that" every day (it
seems), doesn't mean that it the industry as a whole knows about it.
Especially those that sign cheques/sign off on projects.

It's like your fav indie band - you go to the gigs, buy the tee
shirt, etc. *you* know how good they are but the general public won't
until they appear on countdown/MMM/Sunrise with Koshy.

this could be the best version yet - not just in features - but in
(re-)making a presence for Coldfusion.

Heck, look at Ruby-on-rails, even. Ruby (the language) has been around
for ages...

or, Look at Silverlight. Big splash but isn't it the same WPF/e and
XAML that's been kicking around for a while? only now it's got some
legs?

Dale, sounds like you're in the same position as a lot of smart
businesses - gearing up to grab it straight away to solve pressing
problems now - and get the jump on competitiors...

In fact, because Adobe are being so open, the "converted" are already
in the know and energy can be directed to areas that are a bit more
general or marginal - or mainstream. Look for an article in the IT
section of Tuesdays Australian when it's launched: that's the target
to aim for, not you and I (since we already know what's in it).

nah, the only thing I'd change is getting Bruce Chizen to earn his
keep with some spruking. The rest is chugging along nicely.

eh, just my 2c
