Daemon's last four dev hires were not ColdFusion developers -- we train people in house. We generally look for people we think have some programming talent, and try and seduce them with the prospect of interesting projects. So far everyone seems to enjoy working in CFML. If you're looking to hire in mid-snr people to look after an existing legacy app without the prospect of change or a culture of innovation, then you're going to find things difficult and/or expensive regardless of the language. Advertise for good developers -- pitch them on the incredible solution you are building. It's more important than the specific language skills -- any good developer can pick up CFML in short order.
