Is
there any reason why it has to be _javascript_?
What
about Flash?
What
about a Java Applet?
It is
certainly possible to do it using either of those. If you really need it to be
_javascript_ and Netscape compliant, it will be very limited
functionality.
Using
either Java or Flash would probably provide a much better user
experience.
I seem
to remember seeing a couple of wysiwyg editors in Java and Flash, but I don't
have the URLs to hand. A bit of searching in Google should unearth them
though.
