Is there any reason why it has to be JavaScript?

What about Flash?
What about a Java Applet?

It is certainly possible to do it using either of those. If you really
need it to be Javascript and Netscape compliant, it will be very
limited
functionality.

Using either Java or Flash would probably provide a much better user
experience.

I seem to remember seeing a couple of wysiwyg editors in Java and
Flash,
but I don't have the URLs to hand. A bit of searching in Google should
unearth them though.

Subject: [cfaussie] [OT] JavaScript Based WYSIWYG Editor?

Anyone know of a 100% JavaScript based WYSIWYG Editor (open source)
that
does not use IE's features (commandExec) and works in other browsers
like NetScape etc.???

TIA
