Frontpage is perfectly reasonable as an alternative to actual talent for a quick content driven site were asthetics aren't a primary issue. Simple content has its place withing frontpage. Its when you start trying to develop application rich environments rather then content rich environments, or create asthetically pleasing content that it becomes a great steaming bucket of something exceptionally nasty.
