Thanks for the help guys. will use structNew wherever I can from now on. Steve: I wasn't trying to do tables.1, more like tables[1] which I think is valid. Maybe I'm missing your point.
One other thing - thats for mysql but I think it could be pretty easily adapted for other DBMSs.
