I live in both worlds. Even having a team here at Morgans, I am still primarily responsible for "implementing" design using the best technologies availables. Hence why I absolutely love the CSS Zen Garden site (plus a few others mentioned here recently regarding CSS Tutorials). And you are completely right. Understanding how to implement design better - even if the designers themselves don't know the technology - means we get a better outcome (especially if we can pass on the technology to the creativeness and lessen the burden on having to lead the charge technologically). My actual point was that CFAussie is primarily a development related list (as other have pointed out in a similar review thread, the WSG list would be more focussed on design) so I suppose I was coming from the angle that we should - as far as practical - be reviewing sites (via this list specifically) from a development point of view. That is not to say that we are "designer biggotted" though. I am just thinking that a lot of focus was given to the "visual" aspect and not much to what was behind the scenes. Having said that, I have a question............ .....how best can we - as developers - review sites from a development point of view ? It is really tricky for a number of reasons: 1. Intellectual Property 2. Bulk of code that may need to be reviewed 3. Database schema design 4. Time required 5. etc. etc. Anybody got any ideas on how peer review across enterprises can be achieved to a greater level of depth than we do now ?
