Rob, Good job, its always hard to put yourself at the mercy of the masses - even those so polite as cfaussie :)
If I can give you one piece of advice; with anything in design (and life) the simplest solution is often the best. Dont over complicate things just to show how smart you are. Your clients and the users will be much more satisfied. Also consider that the screen resolution you are designing in is not the screen resolution of your users (except perhaps with an intranet). Does the site feel the similar on all resolutions? Wherever possible try to use scaling content - have you seen your site @ 1440 x 900?, theres a lot of blank real estate. One of the hardest things we all face is easy to understand navigation structures, try not to use a lot of items in your navigation (unless you have no other choice, keep it in small manageable groups and expand from there. Yours seems to be quite well structured As designers sometimes we focus on the images of the website; which is what the client wants, if you feel you are graphically challenged you can always use of a graphic designer there are two things from my point of view that are equally important - we should focus on the flow of the website - is it easy to navigate does it follow a logical path - can your grandmother use the site? - is the code easy to understand and easily maintained - its easy now because its fresh in your mind, could you maintain/modify it in 12 months when you cant remember. [comment, comment, comment] it will save your hair falling out :) One thing that will assist you with simpler coding is better use of your style tags - keep them in one place either in the document header or as a separate file also be careful of things like this; <a href="%20http://www.nscomm.com" target="_blank"> the space in your code - as shown by %20 stops its functionality (at least in safari) All up, pretty good effort, learning never stops so keep at it. just my opinion :) Steve On 11/11/03 9:53 AM, "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > thank you all that posted a comment.
