A web service cannot make a request to a Flash (or any other) client. It can only respond to a request initiated by a client. This is a restriction of HTTP and Web Services, not of Flash. If the Flash client uses a different protocol to talk to a different service, as in Flash Communication Server, then it may be a different story.

Subject: [cfaussie] CF Webservice & Flash MX

Is it possible to for example have a Flash client talk to a CF Webservice (yes) and have the CF Webservice talk back to multiple Flash MX clients (?)

Example;

[Flash client 1] (send data) -> [Web Service]
[Web Service] (sends data) -> [Flash client 2] and [Flash client 3] and [Flash client 4] and [Flash client etc.]

If it's possible can anyone provide any links to tutorials, code samples etc.?

(I can think of some things that would be problematic i.e. proxies)

TIA
