I said "supposed" because that is not the case with the Cold Fusion
compiled Java classes (as was explained to me by Macromedia).

You have to port your code across to the different platform and let Cold
Fusion compile it for that platform (I am told that is part of the reason
why we aren't able to package up our Cold Fusion compiled .class files and
port them to another platform).

I'll be happy to be proven wrong on the above.

If it can happen in one case, it can happen in others.

I didn't say you could use DCOM/COM in a Linux environment. I mentioned
it as a frame of reference for people who may not be familiar with Linux
but who are familiar with Windows.

But - I'll shut up for now - seeing as I have at least managed to
stimulate some conversation on what I think is an important topic that we
can all learn something from.

So - has anyone got any examples of how it would be possible to do such a
thing as was requested ?
