So although you said that this was a multi-homed server, the problem is occurring in the default web server only (only because you haven't set up any virtuals yet)?
Would it be something to do with ASP or something having its settings too greedy and trying to process CFM pages? I'm also assuming that you've reinstalled MF a few times too?
