My brother lives around that area, and every time i have visited him or been in Sydney i'm usually around that area, and i feel 110% safe - except one time where two deros where looking at us with a "wonder how much is in their wallets" - but in truth, they where weedy looking and a simple sneeze could of caved their chest in.

I think the nightclub in question is the problem. I've heard that its a bit of a dodge club, so stay away from it and you'll be cool.

As Geoff said, its just the local news stations getting their own taste of "Hollywood" style shootouts. You'd probably find that it was a pepper gun drive-by or something like that... amusing part was watching Sandra Sully stuff her lines up again...

Besides, the only safe destination in Australia is Queensland, afterall we are the coolest state :D *watches as NSW/VIC/SA/NT/WA/TAS flying monkeys are released*

P.S
Ever played the "Sandra Sully" news Anchor drinking game. The basics are, every time she screws up a word, you take a shot of booze. By the end of the news, you should be blotto. One day she'll be able to get through a news segment without stumbling over a word or two.

As you are no doubt already aware MXDU 2004 will be held at Star City
Casino in Pyrmont.

I've been watching the news of late and see many (nasty) things happening
in and around this venue. I'm not ususually surprised (it's Sydney after
all) however is it the ideal/safest place for MXDU?

The latest incident was a drive by shooting, they've had disgruntled
gamblers drive their cars into the lobby, drug busts in the hotel, what
next?
