Not in my experience.

Features have been demo'd in the past that didn't make it into the releases.
One good case in point was the demo Ben gave at the devcon a couple of years
ago where he deleted the cfm source files and was still able to run the code
as java class files. That was supposed to allow you to deploy your apps
without the cfm sources. Obviously it didn't make it to the final release of
CFMX.
