As Spike indicates, it's more than a legal disclaimer. FWIW, in the early Neo cycle, my team built a bunch of code that depended on a feature that was withdrawn between the alpha and the beta. There are many reasons for this sort of thing, hence the extremely tight security around the pre-release product plans...
