Ahhhh, I just assumed... computers, 1950's and men being the pigs we
were, wouldn't let a female near such devices.
But, i can see i was wrong, very interesting read though.
I've been reading this wiki for the last hour, and its amazing.

Babbage was a theoretical genius with no real concept of practical
applications of his work, and he would have been stuffed without Ada's
assistance.
