The pissup(s) alone is well worth the admission fee :D eheheheh Heres my 2c for reasons:
- insight into upcoming Macromedia technologies - ability to talk direct with some really smart people, to sound off any complex problems you currently have! - networking, meet new people in the same field to share potential business relationships, that or share resources etc. - learn new stuff - stuff being in general, tips, techniques, code etc - shake Robins hand, the man is a living legend. All must bow before the Hilliard ;) eheheh. - Talk direct with Macromedia product managers (i know its similiar to my other "talk direct" point - but different in that you can probe for reasons as to why something is the way it is etc). - Exposure to some interesting people and cultural differences. - Put faces to names, in that CFAUSSIE... each year i got the "oooooooh so your scott barnes....it make sense..." - never figured out what that meant btw. - Having ability to drink until, your bodies immune system gives out and you can no longer walk... - Ability to have a moment in time, when you can brag about stuff your doing, then watch someone out do you with stuff they are doing...gets competitive, and fists can fly though. Its a hard sell in many ways, but at the end of the day, i've always walked away from MXDU pumped, motivated and ready to tackle the next round of Macromedia based projects...kind of gives yoou a second wind.
