Have you tried "localhost" or "127.0.0.1"?

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your suggestion....ReefStateDB is just my CF datasource name I am
using IP address for my DSN. I tried reefstatedb in lowercase but no still
no luck...I wish the error would tell me more....I can connect fire with the
same details using ODBC or Enterprise Manager...that whats got me so beat!
:(

Thanks again

Tim

I'm probably on the wrong track but I remember having a ton of trouble
getting my web site up and running on a host and though I can't remember
exactly, this error message looks very familiar.

Turned out that in my code my DSN was in upper case and the server wouldn't
recognise it. Changing the dsn to lowercase fixed it.

The server also wanted lower case table names in my database.

Maybe you could try reefstatedb...

nah...no luck
I reinstalled from scratch (with the patch this time) and its still the same
error.

Connection verification failed for data source: ReefStateDB
[]java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error
establishing socket. Connection refused: connect The root cause was
that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error
establishing socket. Connection refused: connect

I'll beers at MXDU for whoever can solve it :)
