Actually I think this makes a lot of sense - it creates a mega monopoly in the designer space and it's great news for developers. Adobe has a slightly stronger brand than Macromedia in the enterprise through it's document management, document generation and workflow products. There is a big Adobe developer community out there and all of a sudden they have CF, Flash and Flex to call their own - I imagine there will be a lot of new faces at user groups.

In the near future the combined "Macrobe" will have to be considered as one of the big platform companies alongside Microsoft, IBM and Oracle. This is a confirmation for the MM development community that we've been backing the right horse all along :-)
