Brandon,
Thats sept 01 release, JDBC SP1 was released Jan 16 2003.
Check this out.

I think MS went ahead and released their own version. The performance is in-line with
.NET ODBC/ADO.NET

I am not sure if Microsoft designed their own JDBC drivers but last I knew
Microsoft OEM'd the Data-Direct (use to be Merant) Drivers instead of
building their own. See this press release

<a target=_blank
href="http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2001/sep01/09-25MerantPR.asp";>http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2001/sep01/09-25MerantPR.asp</a>

As of near the middle of last year they were still using Data-Direct
drivers. Maybe this is just a different version than the ones in CFMX or maybe
they released their own version?

Spend quite alot of time testing CFC's. Finally gave up and switched
SQL-Server Data-Direct Driver to Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver SP1.

Data-Direct (CFMX default)
Execution time 300-900ms (very inconsistent)

Microsoft JDBC Driver SP1
Execution time 0-20ms (consistent)

Problem was the Very Poor Data-Direct drivers.
Lesson.. Always go with DB vendor drivers.
