Title: MVCF at benorama.com
OK, after looking at his documentation, I can give some more feedback on this.

This is exactly (90 percent) on how I have been coding with CFMX. I would suggest reading it. I have had no problems. Pay close attention to Part 3, as to get the full power from CFMX this is what I found to be best. This type of methodology has proved invaluable to me as the last site I created I had some problems with CFMX and com objects, so I had to resort to ASP.net to help me complete the application. This was very easy to do without changing my project in any way. I am going to continue much like this in my coding practices as integration to other programming languages that support SOAP, etc. are easily called and used within.

At my current job we are rebuilding an application and he wants to use FB and CFMX. I have tried to advise against it, for reasons I am sure you already understand, and tried to give him some insight of my coding practices that I have learned works best on CFMX. With this documentation I will present him with this and hopefully we will be going over it with a fine toothed comb and possibly move more to this type of methodology.

The few things I do not use in his methodology are things such as the configuration being placed in an XML document, which is a pretty good idea and not sure why I didn't.t think of it. A great idea as for what I have been doing is including the configuration options, such as administrators email, etc... using CFINCLUDE. This would be easier to parse out I think and would not waste any app time by and only calling on them when they are needed, as they are held in the application scope.

I am impressed. It is almost like someone has been watching over my shoulder or I have been sharing his thoughts, lol. The only thing I have not been doing thus far is the XML application configuration and his folder naming conventions, etc....

Give it a shot, I think you will be impressed at the ease of management, the reuse of code, the speed of the application and the easy integration for using other languages, something that may be important if you are not just a CF shop or possibly want to use some of those cool ASP com objects that you can not seem to get to work in CFMX (Like the MS Word object, ugh)

Has anyone looked really hard at this one? What are everybody's thoughts on this?

I'm looking for a replacement to Fusebox 3 for MX - FBMX is too slow coming, and probably won't make much sense anyway (I'm guessing it'll be quite obfuscatory and rather difficult to implement the first five to ten times).

He's put together quite a presentation, and he about has me convinced, if only I can simplify the structure a bit. I'm trying to find the right methodology for my team here to use, and they're NONE of them big methodology-users.

Anyway, just haven't seen any threads about this, and wondered if you folks had anything to say on the subject.

Which of course you must; you always do. ;)

Thanks,
ecd.
