Design Pattens explained: Alan Shalloway, James R. Trott The Joy of Patterns: Brandon Goldfedder Building Web Applications with UML: Jim Conallen Also, check out http://www.gentleware.com and download Poseidon 1.6.1 CE, a community edition UML tool. I'd have to comment that UML is pretty much useless unless accompanied by a considered approach and practice around modeling and object design, which is why the recommendation of the two design pattern books. I'm sure I'll have invited a roasting and flaming as a result of that little comment, but if you're not annoying someone, you're not really alive.
