Yeah, you can definitely beat the problem, but then you have to build a
redundant NAS boxes, so you're doubling your server count, just to avoid
having to copy files between servers when you make updates.

You're just as likely to have to replace the disks in your NAS box as in
your web box, so that's hardly an argument.  And you should definitely be
running multiple mirrored or striped drives in all the machines, so even if
a disk dies, it doesn't kill the server, whatever server it is.
