yeah link was more just reference to another DAO implementation than an actual suggestion to use it. I've been doing some JSP development for our Internet hence the need for it..
I used to spend about 30% of my time writing SQL but now i'd say its closer to 10%. Likewise I spend at least 30-40% of my time on the UI. I really want to get that down to 10-15% but I fair that won't happen for a very long time. Well once all the standard machinery is in place the actual biz logic is not usually all that much. (w/ regards to coding time, design and planning aside) Thanks for the link but I'd rather go straight CF for the solution...otherwise I might as well implement in Java completely. (ack!) There was talk about some cf solution a ways back but didn't hear much since. Guess I'll have to reserve myself a weekend and bang somethin' out! -S -----Original Message----- From: Tim Van Der Hulst [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2004 9:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [CFCDev] CRUD and Hibernate Hey Stace, 75% man thats killer, what kinds of stuff are you creating?? hmm heres a simple table based DAO API for java. http://www.javaranch.com/jenny.jsp you basically run it over your database and it creates classes for each table, same sorta thing as hibernate. Sounds simple enough, no idea if you could write a CFC layer for it or not tho, hehe. It's quite annoying seeing as it's certainly not rocket science from one app to another. Anyone poked around and creating semi-automated tools for this? (perhaps a la Hibernate in Java world?)
