We'll pay if we understand the value clearly. I hear and have heard people saying "Nobody wants to pay". Well hey, that's always true, no matter what you market. We design campaigns for our clients. It's universal. Nobody ever wants to pay. They want something else!!! I imagine a new car dealer on the corner of a street, waving a picture in the air. "Anybody wanna pay for this car? It's only $29,859." :) ***** The real and very significant cost to the community right now is the amount of time and effort that it takes for us to learn - and teach - something new, both individually, and collectively. We're doing it through these lists. And scattered through a bunch of blog posts. It costs a lot. Collectively, we're putting 100's of man hours into it every day. Pretty quickly, people who have something to share realize that it's horribly inefficient to share what they know via the lists, and cut down the amount of time they spend doing so to a minimum. Others not so accomplished, like myself, sometimes try and jump in and give a hand. And a significant portion of the people who want to learn something give up. So not only are we putting a lot of time into it as a group. It's not working very well. So if the question posed, instead of "Are you willing to pay for this?" is "Would you like to learn Mach-II much more efficiently and easily, from the guy who created it?" and you can demonstrate that you have a way that really works - we'll buy it. Simple. Even if Sean says we won't. We'll all do it in secret and not admit it. "Where did you learn all that from? Have you been watching one of Hal's tutorials?" "Me? Naw, no way! I worked it all out myself." ;) I'll take this offlist with Hal, in case some people feel we're too off topic here. My apologies if you do.
