Nolan,
I use MS SQL with CF 4.5. In filling the form on CF Administrator, you
don't enter the name of the file; you should enter the name of the
database.
Login Info: MyDatabase
But before you fill in the details on the CF Administrator; you have to set
up the DSN through the ODBC Administrator.
On the Window 'Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration', you have to answer
the question:"How should SQL Server verify the authenticity of the login
ID?". For my case, I checked "With SQL Server authentication using a login
ID and password entered by the user". Below there is one more entry that
you have to enter, the Login ID. Enter the Login ID here. You can test the
connection by entering the password. The next couple of screens will bring
you to a point where there is a button "Test Data Source". Click it, you
will see the message "Testing completed successfully".
Hope this help.

Hi everyone,
This may be a basic question for most of you, but I am trying to setup my
first SQL server database within Cold Fusion Administrator. I have setup
MS Access D-bases before with CF Administrator, but I'm a newbie to SQL
server. I am using CF 5.0 on Windows 2000.
Using the SQL server driver, I setup the following:
DSN Name: MyDatabase
Server: (Local)
Login Info: MyDatabase.MDF
When I select Create or Update, it tells me that it cannot verify the
database. Can anyone suggest what is wrong, or direct me to a resource
that is CF and SQL specific?
Much thanks.
