I wil be going with crystaltech
myself their prices are good and they have a plan for 50US that gives 450mb
with mssql 2000
And their bandwidth seems to be good
as well.

I do compact and repair the database
it dosen't decrease in size. I guess I will have to look for another
host.

Presumably you do
compact , but, if not, this could save you a high %
It seems intermedia
charge $50 extra / month for MSSQL for only 10MB so not sure you could save
anyway
Plus I think you may not
find converting to SQL quite as easy as Byron suggests
I also suggest you check
out alternative hosts as there are plenty of options out there

Access does not
"purge" itself automatically. You may try downloading the
database, doing a "Compact" and then uploading it again. That
will make it smaller if you have a bunch of deleted records hanging around.

Subject: [CFTALKTor] Disk Space
I have problem with a simple
website that I have that uses (I know, I know) Access as a database. What
started out being a 20 - 30 mb file has now somehow grow to 200 mb and is
growing. My shared hosting provider charges a lot of money for disk
space. Would converting the file to MSSQL 2000 save me diskspace?
If so, I am not familiar
with MSSQL is there a tool that will easily convert my database to MSSQL
so that I can upload it.
