I don't understand the 'csync' terminology or why it's important, but I
am interested, yes - and the psone display thing (other email) - I'm not
so much on a budget was I want low power LCD panels that I can easily
adapt to be displays - I'm still trying to figure out what I have to do
to integrate a "raw" LCD panel (an LCD with just ribbon cable leads)
with an SBC (probably need some sort of VGA driver chip on the board?) -
this assumes I will have the panel specs.

FYI: to get Amperage (used to rate the amount of current that a wire of
a particular gauge - size - will carry safely) from Wattage (the way
devices are typically rated - e.g. this laptop is rated at 90W power
consumption) you divide Watts by Volts - or W = A*V - so if you're
running the same device at 12V you are consuming more amperage than if
you are running at 120V - the laptop will pull somehting less than an
amp off wall power, but something like 7.5A from the car battery
(probably closer to 8A once you account for losses in the inverter if
you're using one). Apologies to those who already knew this - just
figured it's useful to some...
