Ah, it may be out of print.

Its basically about a rather childlike woman who keeps
a trunk in the attic with mementoes of her explorer
father, and a lot of fantastic stories that her
sensible husband does not believe. Then there's the
clouds of moths that resemble no known species, and
the phantom chauffer. The husband decides to see a
therapist about his marital difficullties, and she
suggests that he must open the trunk and find out the
truth behind his wife's strange history....

It is quite a shocking and disturbing book. Not quite
like any other horror novel I've ever read.

Anyway, if its no longer available, guess I've piqued
your interest for nothing. Maybe someone else on this
list may have read it.
