Regarding Therese Raquin: - its the only novel that I
was unable to finish because it was too horrifying.

Nana is one of my favourite non- horror books, I must
have read it about 5 times, and am about due to read
it again. I was very surprised to find the inclusion
of the word "con" when at the same time English novels
were using "D___" instead of damn, proving the French
to be more liberal than the Victorian English.

Tried Germinal but couldnt make it past the first few
pages.

Maybe its time I scoured the bookshops for more Zola.

Regards
Morgan
