In the example below, I really want the cell with 14 in it to be empty, but
it is too much trouble to empty it and the one below it. But the answer I
get using "from" is different from the answer I get using 0 _1}. , which is
the answer I was trying for. But maybe you are on the right track. I am not
familiar enough with L. to quickly improve on your from.

I tried to invent a version of +/ &.:(<<< row;column){, but there is no
such take, much less an inverse of that take. Oh well...
