My rationale for the second puzzle is purely numerological, and I hope there is a more satisfactory explanation. Assuming the names of figures just stand for the number of their sides, I got the series from 3 x 8 = 24 4 x 6 = 24 5 x 8 = 40 6 x 7 = 42 7 x 8 = 56 8 x 8 = 64 9 x 8 = 72 Best wishes, John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
