I do not have enough relevant background to form any meaningful questions for
him, at this point, but in the context of computer programming I am
not convinced
that operations on linear maps (which may involve some uncountable
infinities) are
necessarily simpler than operations on numbers -- at least not in the
general case.
(But they might very well be simpler for the cases he is treating.)
