Dieter, I am curious what your install procedure was. While I was very new to J a few years ago, my then-employer issued me a PocketPC device. Now I am not a windows-head much having been using linux at home for years (and Mac in that particular office) nor was I familiar with mobile devices beyond the old palm platform, but I recall that I downloaded J directly onto the device while I was waiting for a bus and had my application half-written before I got to the subway. I haven't had the device for a couple of years now (and J was the only thing I ever used it for) so I forget the details, but, for me, the installation was trivial. It is indeed a shame the Apple's marketing policies preclude entire classes of applications from an otherwise powerful and elegant device. Certainly, you can't lay that at the feet of the vendor who is being shut of the market in a manner both legal and (IMNPHO) obscenely unethical. -- - michael dykman - [email protected] May the Source be with you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
