Interestingly, on the page "Parts Of Speech" of the Dictionary,

  http://www.jsoftware.com/help/dictionary/partsofspeech.htm

the section "Others" contains:

 - Coplulae: =:, =.
 - Nouns: _, _., a., a:
 - Punctuation: NB.

Copula is a syntactic role which is fulfilled by
copula linking words. In English, these are special
copulative verbs by the part of speech. Whereas some of
them share non-copulative roles (is, get, grow), others
are primarily copular (seem).

Realizing that "to be" is not the only copulative verb,
the two "assignment" primitives could be given different names,
for example:
  =: Is
  =. Seems

Alongside NB., the following particles belong to punctuation,
whose role is to determine the parsing or execution flow:
  - white space: SPACE, TAB
  - quotes: ''
  - parentheses: ()
  - line endings: CR, LF
  - comments: NB., Note'...' ... )
  - explicit form: n : 0 ... )
  - control words: for. ... if. ... goto_x.
