Dear Tracy, OK OK OK
You must forgive me, I am getting old. I do recall formal compilers from decades ago, but that was one of the charms of APL, live interaction, instant results. True, nothing seems as sweet and simple as my hp BASIC machines for programming, or the new graphing calculators with their symbolic entries, fill in the blanks type of entries, and for nearly all applications all the programming is done by the machines in invisible ways. J was going to give me the modern speed and indeed it has speed, and hopefully a lot more significant digits than my other devices have, and sure J could provide me with a little nostalgia for the friendly APL array days. thanks D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
