But you do not need to edit it with J you can use your editor of choice and if you use notepad the script is not read only. J has decided to make the scripts read only when opening so you do not accidentally edit and change the script. You can also choose run/run line and the same happens and it also tells you that the same happens pressing ctrl+r If you select a few lines in the ijs window and press ctrl+e you pipe the selected lines to the J engine and they will be processed and the results published in the ijx window.
