Once I had a problem to create a map generator for realistic floor maps. The
task wasn't well defined; just "realistic maps". For Visio (I work in
Microsoft). I've spent about 40 minutes in J trying various schemes, found an
acceptable one. Then in 3 hours translated the result of investigations to C#.
I didn't even consider avoiding that; we have code reviews, and nobody ever
heard of J. It worked nice, after I've implemented in C# some partial cases of
some J operators.
Jsoftware.com website mentiones there are guys in Microsoft who work with J...
I couldn't find them so far. May be it's old information. Technically, now I'm
here.
