Sorry, I've been unavailable lately due to an EWORKLOADOVERFLOW. Just
for the record, Leonel told me he would push his changes onto the
Debian packaging repository, and I'll work a bit on them.

That would be best done in debian/rules, /me guesses (without having
seen it at all). Least invasive way. Of course, we will want to drop
that line once you decide to deprecate older Ubuntu versions (and I
decide to drop older Debian versions, of course).

Regarding the feature freezes, if there are no known _bugs_ in the
0.98 series, it's almost always preferrable to include a package which
has received broader testing than one having new, better features in
the official release. After all, that's the main reason you are
providing the unofficial repositories (and the main reason I will also
be packaging newer versions for Lenny backports as soon as I have the
time for that :) )
