ok My age will be showing in this post....BUT I have the same problem..!

My son owns a 68 Chevelle and I purchased a basket case (for me) a few
years ago...just to get back into
playing with Non Plastic Cars (Corvettes)... I am progressing right
along...396 has been rebuilt, Trans
also... New front (ouch ) inner and outer fenders and now working on the
rear quarters...(hate to say this
but they are only going to get patch panels..) Anyway I replaced the
springs, and now I have to really
inflate the rear air shocks etc to even come close to leveling the car
out... I have not progressed to the
point yet where I am ready to do play with the cars stance...but why back
in the dark ages (I had a
51 Ford) that I took a torch to the springs and lowered that sucker down to
where it was "correct for the
times (late 50"s )... course it rode like a fricken buckboard..but was
cool as hell... AND THAT WAS MY PLAN for this car also...the car is only
going to be used as a cruiser, not really all that concerned with
the ride...has anyone used heat in the last 40-50 years to lower a car...?

Just curious...
