I didn't think the one wire hook up would keep working. We had a race car
and I hooked it up with one positive and looped it to both points and it
worked for a while until the altenator lost its field power and then I had
to excite the field by putting power( + ) to the small brown wire. Then I
hooked up a light on the dash and fed it with (+) and the other wire to the
brown from altenator. When you first turn the key on the light is on and
when you start the car and the altenator is working the light would go off.
It would then be charging.
