It's
not an option but a piece of standard equipment for my year that I think is
hard to find. 1969 SS396's had the 3 speed Muncie MC1 as the base model trans.
My car still has it. I think most that did have long since been removed and
replaced with a 4 speed. The auto trans and 4 speeds where all options. By
doing a number calculation ( be awhile ago so going by a bad memory) I
figured about 2700 where built. Add to this my car is a bench seat car
and does not have power steering, I believe I have a hard to find NO Option
car or price leader car. I don't think there very many of them
built.

everyone thinks or knows is the rarest options for
their year of
chevelle.how about giving the name of the part, option
code,what was the
function of the part, and maybe the GM part number. also if
you happen
to have that option and if not what would you pay to own that
option?
lets limit this to factory or dealer installed options
only.

One option on a
1970 Chevelle that was the rarest luxury option was cruise control,only
507 were ordered that year.I saw one at the Aces Chevelle meet at Graham
Washington,2years ago on a 1970 El Camino big block,and what was interesting
was that there was a 71 Chevelle next to it with factory cruise and
the large part that bolts to the drivers inner fender was different
from 1970 to 1971.
