I guess I mis-spoke when I said flexplate. I meant the flywheel, but now
someone will say: "Flywheels only come on manual trannys". The thingie the
torque convertor bolts to. It cracked around the crank bolts, and made a
thunk-thunk-thunk just like a rod knock. After it cracked, it was a
flexplate! Ha-ha
