I stripped my hole car to bare metal, but I used aviation paint
stripper.Then I used a orbital sander with 80 grit, but took it off orbital
(turn couter weight on bottom)and had to be carefull not heat up the metal
or take off steel. Then I used a small hand held sand blaster for bad spots
( large blaster can worp the metal).Then you can :
-Hammer/dolly dents
-Weld holes/cracks/replacement-panels
-Clean
-Condition the metal
-Conversion coat (is this needed?)
-Body filler to fix holes/dents
-Primer-seal
-Wet-sand
-Color
-Clear coat (is this needed?)
On my website there are picks of the 66 that I did. It got 3 coats of
acrylic enamel and 2 coats of clear.
