Indeed it will...I've launched one of those clips into limbo an a previous
occasion.

There still isn't a concensus on how they were attached.  I've heard popped on
ond riveted on.  This doesn't look like it had a rivet in it. But this may also
be a replaced knob.  I guess it's time to take things apart and have a good
look.  My next post will probably be about finding relacement clips...I hate
those things.
